The Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 Netbook
Dell is but one of many netbook manufacturers updating their lines to the new Intel Atom N450 processor. The processor uses less power and battery life is much longer. A six-cell battery can probably last 9 hours instead of 6 (without using video).
Specifications
The Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 has a display width of 10.1 inches and a keyboard that's 92 percent the size of a full keyboard. The standard resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels (16:9 aspect ratio), with a boost button that can instantly take it up to 1366 x 768 pixels. Hello, high resolution (1080p) movies!
The overall weight is 1.3 kilograms (2.9 pounds) and it comes with 1 gigabyte of memory and a 160 gigabyte hard disk drive installed. It has a multi-touch trackpad and the next-generation WiFi. It comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition preinstalled and NO optical drive. You'll either need to use an external optical drive if you want to change or upgrade the operating system or do it without an optical drive using images and other kinds of external devices.
Pricing
It's selling for about USD $325 at Amazon, but I didn't check anywhere else. I saw references to $299, but Amazon includes free shipping in the price. Anyway, the price is within the typical range for new netbooks without any extra frills.
Would I recommend this netbook? Is there anything negative about it? It's a Dell, isn't it? Whether that's a negative statement or not depends entirely on your own experiences with Dell computer products.

DELL is almost on the same level as Acer and Asus when it comes to pricing. But they stand out from them because of "style". Nice small laptop.
I've been using dell for PC's for 11 years and the only issues I've ever had with them was either a drive finally burning out or the processor over heating. Both very minor things that are easy replacement parts.
I currently have 10 Dell's networked on a 10 port router/modem network. I just can't see myself ever using another brand of PC.
